Review of Ward 8 written by a patient
22nd May 2017

I was extremely pleased with the level of care I received. It felt personalised and I was very much listened to throughout my labour. I would highly recommend the ward to other pregnant women.

Review of Ward 10 - Postnatal written by a patient
17th May 2017

The team on Ward 10 work extremely hard and are clearly overworked and understaffed. They tried their very best to give excellent care to all the women on the ward, but I did at times feel like I was left without regular checks as I was the most 'straightforward' case in the ward. This was no fault of the midwife team, they simply didn't have the capacity at times.

Midwives were amazing and the maternity ward was just fantastic as a while. No complaints.

Review of Ward 8 written by a patient
17th April 2017

The midwifes and all the staff I came across at Durham hospital where very kind and understanding, I suffered with post natal depression after a traumatic birth experience after I had my son 4 years ago and I had major anxiety about my labour this time round. All the midwifes talked to me and kept me informed on what was happening and helped me to achieve a very natural birth experience. I would definitely recommend Durham hospital to any having a baby as the facilities where up to date and clean and the staff went above and beyond to look after me and my partner bringing my beautiful daughter into the world . They showed extreme levels of compassion and understanding and they did everything they could to make sure this birth experience was a good one. I am extremely grateful to of been looked after so well.

Review of A & E North Durham written by a family member
6th April 2017

The staff did the best they could with the resources & training they had. We feel ambulances could be used more efficiently, i.e. not to transport patients between hospitals because an ENT consultant is not available at Durham's main hospital! Such a waste.
